Retail’s “MasterClass” Moment

KTM tapped into the MasterClass movement, producing a high-end video series that transformed SOCO & The OC Mix into a must-shop digital destination.


The Challenge

When the COVID-19 shutdown brought retail and in-person experiences to a halt, SOCO & The OC Mix faced an urgent challenge: how to stay relevant, keep shoppers engaged, and drive sales—without physical foot traffic. Events and activations had been a cornerstone of SOCO’s marketing strategy, but with in-person gatherings off the table, KTM needed to develop a bold, innovative solution to keep the center top of mind and give shoppers a new way to experience its design showrooms, boutiques, and restaurants from home.


KTM’s Solution

With digital content consumption skyrocketing and the rise of “infotainment” and MasterClass-style learning, KTM pioneered a first-of-its-kind branded video series: Masters of Design. We hired a professional production crew, developed high-quality, engaging episodes, and built a full digital campaign around the series.

Each episode focused on a timely, lifestyle-driven theme—from home office design to minimalism to creating a cozy bedroom sanctuary—featuring SOCO’s top design showrooms and linking viewers directly to “shop the look” products online. KTM produced a full suite of promotional assets, including:

  • A dedicated website (socomastersofdesign.com) to host the series

  • A strategic paid media campaign driving thousands of views

  • A targeted email + social rollout highlighting featured shops, products & showrooms

The response was overwhelming.


The Results

Hundreds of thousands of views poured in, turning SOCO into a go-to digital design destination. The campaign was so successful that SOCO hired KTM to produce Season 2, this time focusing on OC Mix’s shops and restaurants. The second season took viewers behind the scenes of SOCO’s boutiques and kitchens, introducing them to the personalities and craftsmanship behind the brands—deepening engagement and driving both brand awareness and sales.

KTM didn’t just help SOCO adapt—we helped them evolve. By turning an in-person experience into a high-impact digital campaign, we proved that when retail changes, the right marketing strategy can redefine success.
